Visit to Paris
Quelle aventure! We are delighted to report on a very successful school trip to Paris. The hours preceding our trip on Monday 17th May were very stressful as Belfast International Airport had been closed since the Saturday afternoon due to volcanic ash. Our flight was due to leave at 3pm and we all breathed a sigh of relief when the airspace was re-opened at 1pm to the delight of our students. There after it was plain sailing. The pupils were able to discover all the traditional sites in Paris, going up to the second floor of the Eiffel Tower and to the top of the Arc de Triomphe. Pupils had the opportunity to also visit the Louvre and the Science museum of La Vilette. There were also opportunities for shopping in mini-markets, a supermarket, a huge shopping centre and souvenir shops. The pupils were able to put their French into practice when ordering by themselves in various restaurants and were able to undertsnad how to find their way in the French underground. Of course there was also time for fun at the impressive Aquaboulevard and Euro Disney. As well as the sights and sounds we also benefited from lovely weather throughout the trip. As teachers we cannot help praise the behaviour, enthusiasm and camaraderie between the students which made the educational visit such a success. More photos are available on the gallery section.
